Well, had the interviews today. Some say they were cursory, some say not. Regardless, I think they went well. They were very long. They were from 11:30 till 6:30, but there were some gaps between some of them. Wool is itchy, and it hasn't been quite cold enough to warrant the discomfort. Going to see some more apartments tomorrow, and asked to see some outside the city as well, just to feel like I'm making an informed decision. After the interviews, I feel like the work is going to be alot harder than I originally suspected, but a lot more exciting as well. Met some 'interesting' people today, and if you ask me in person I can tell you a funny story!
I used the most advanced toilet I have ever seen, and the least advanced I have ever seen in the same day! Never know what to expect now when I walk into a restroom. The food has been very good for the most part. Had my first experience last night eating without a translator. It was a fun experience! I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to get. I have 6 apartments to look at today, and I'm told that they are all better than yesterdays. I'm glad I saw those first so I'll appreciate these more. Very few have AC, so if I want it I will probably have to purchase a window unit. Should be able to take pictures today, because the weather has finally cleared up this afternoon.
Well, here I am. The weather man lied. I don't think it's gone below freezing. It rained all day yesterday, and extremely foggy the first half of today. The second half of today provided an excellent view! Thought the hotel room was small, but housing is very small. The views from one of the places is amazing, can see an old fort that looks like a castle called 'Bastille'. The hotel room is very luxurious though. An enormous walkin closet, and even bigger is the bathroom. It's completely marble and mirrors. The keyboards are arranged differently so typing is slow. Haven't been able to take any pictures yet but hope to tomorrow. The hotel staff and several of the police officers I've seen are beautiful young women! Makes me want to break the law! :-) That's been a nice surprise. The food has been excellent so far. Very few people seem to speak english well, so I'll have to learn french quickly for everyday life.
Well, I'm looking at the weather in Grenoble, and it's not supposed to ever get above freezing throughout the 10 day forecast! I bought my first scarf and leather gloves tonight. Wanted to be prepared for my visit next week. I just read that the sunrise this time of year is at 8:10, and the sunset is at 5:30. If I keep my current working hours I would only get to see the sun on weekends! I would have to go out for lunch.
Trying to test this dang thing. This journal is intended to help keep friends and family updated on my adventures, as well as provide a convenient record for myself. Enjoy!
